Krissia Martinez earned her Ph.D. from UCLA’s Graduate School of Education in 2019. Her research explores literacy, health literacy, and translating for parents. She has taught courses on immigrant family experiences, bilingualism, second language acquisition, labor issues, and more at Occidental College, UC Irvine, and UCLA.
