Junior in Biology
I'm a third-year student majoring in Health and Society at the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, I'm part of a cycling organization aiming to pedal from Texas to Alaska to spread cancer prevention awareness and to aid in cancer support services to families who may fall short. Additionally, I'm involved in a lab working to improve preventative cancer care for the Latinx population in Central Texas.
Through these experiences and my own life journey, I've developed a passion for aiding communities who are disproportionately affected by cancer and have inadequate healthcare services. One way I hope to help these communities is by pursuing graduate school, where I can obtain a PhD, and conduct research that highlights the need for policy changes and funding to support these vulnerable communities.
