Jose Palma is wrapping up his Ph.D. in the Quantitative Methods in Education program at the University of Minnesota. Palma’s research focuses on developing fair and valid testing practices in the assessment of diverse and vulnerable populations. This work has included research on the assessment of English language learners and students with disabilities, the role and application of multilevel measurement and educational disparities, the measurement of social-emotional learning and youth development, and in understanding the psychometric properties of tests and items.
